Taiwan First lady wraps up first overseas humanitarian trip
Taiwan's first lady Chow Mei-ching wrapped up her first overseas humanitarian trip Thursday after a five-day visit to Haiti and the Dominican Republic with a jam-packed itinerary. Traveling in her capacity as the honorary president of the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China and as "love ambassador" for the World Vision Taiwan charity organization, Chow visited hundreds of children -- including six whom she and President Ma Ying-jeou are currently sponsoring through World Vision -- during her trip. Accompanied by her daughter, Lesley Ma, the mother-daughter duo were an instant hit with the children in both countries.
